We've continued to have a snowy winter and just this past week we had warm enough temperatures to melt the foot of snow that has blanketed our yard...it even melted our backyard snow fort. Ezra had to go touch the grass because he said he forgot what it was like. We have done some sledding and Jim has been skiing 5 times, taking one or two of the boys each time. Ezra and Elliott have gone to the Toddler Gym a few times.
We had a nice Valentines Day weekend, Emmett had a party at school on Friday and I took Ezra and Elliott to their daycare party Friday morning for an hour. We sledded with friends at the park on Saturday after Emmett's basketball game. We had made sugar cookies and got to share those with teachers and friends. Sunday morning I had the table all decorated with gifts from us and from grandparents. The boys were THRILLED that I had bypassed sweets in favor of their favorite chips. Their breakfast mostly consisted of chips and the cookies that Grandma and Grandpa S. sent. They were also really excited about their football cards. We read the books that Grandma and Grandpa T. sent and Elliott liked to snuggle his super soft Olaf from them.
After church we had heart shaped quesadillas and PB&J, along with strawberry yogurt in heart shaped bowls. While Elliott napped Jim took the other two boys out to look for some moose that were on the loose in town. Fish and Game caught 4 moose and relocated them from town. Jim and the boys didn't get to see them, but they found some other wildlife, bald eagles and swans.
Our church had it's 4th annual Nerf War for charity. We raised money for livestock through World Vision. The "War" started at 3 for ages 12 and under. Emmett is the perfect age for it, Ezra still sometimes has trouble cocking his gun and wanted to stay right with Emmett but Emmett is a little too fast for him. In the end Ezra had a ton of fun, but it was a little emotional for a bit while he found his groove. Elliott LOVED it and wanted to be right out there with them. He was running around aiming our little pistol and then picking up all the ammo he could carry and throwing it at people. We took a quick break for dinner and Emmett stayed at the church while the rest of us picked up our car that was getting worked on, but then were right back to the war. They had a raffle and Emmett won a grand prize which he got to pick out a big Nerf gun. I took Elliott home at about 6:30 and Ezra and Emmett stayed with Jim right up until 8pm. From 5-8pm the floor was open to all ages and then from 8-10pm it was only for 13 and up. Jim went back at 10 to help clean up. Emmett said it was the most fun he'd had all year.
