Moose Cross Bike Race

October 15th was a busy and fun day for us.  Emmett had his last soccer game of the season and Jim was the referee.  Then Jim went straight to church to run the video for worship team practice.  I brought the boys home for a bit and then we went to Ezra's last soccer game of the season.  As soon as we got home we finished packing the car and went over to Victor, Idaho for the Moose Cross Cyclecross race.  Jim's race was coming up fast so he quickly checked in and started warming up.  The boys finished watching a movie in the car and then we got out and explored.  Soon it was time for Jim's race to start so we went to the starting line and cheered and rang cow bells.  Then we went where we could watch more of the race and the boys climbed various dirt mounds.  We also went and played on a playground near the end.  After Jim's race we got the boys registered for their races and watched part of another race.  The kids got to decorate their numbers and everyone who entered the race got some fun swag.  Jim got a pint glass, socks and snickerdoodles and the boys got water bottles, snickerdoodles and carrots.

Jim's race lasted 45 minutes and he came in right in the middle of the pack of his race and had fun.  Emmett did a full loop (a little over a mile) and Jim followed him.  He had a great time and did well as one of the youngest in that race.  Ezra and Elliott did a small loop and I opted to stay with Elliott since he needed the most help.  Ezra ended up getting lost and going way too far and was pretty upset.  Elliott went very slow and we cut his loop short.  Jim repeated the loop with Ezra and he had more fun.

After the races we went out to dinner and then drove home.
