The week of Spring Break was more of a "stay-cation" for us as I had to work some extra. We made our days off fun and Jim even took Wednesday off so the boys would have more fun at home. Tuesday morning we met up with friends (Luke and Abby) at the Artitorium. The kids had a great time doing art projects on the computers, performing on a green screen, doing animation, playing instruments, the large magnet wall, and running up the ramp and going down the slide. We also crafted with paper plates, tissue paper, Popsicle sticks and markers. Unfortunately it was extremely crowded which made it really hard to keep an eye on Elliott. After a couple hours we went to the dairy for lunch and ice cream with our friends. It was a pretty nice day and we got to eat outside. None of the baby animals were out yet.

Wednesday I worked and Jim took the boys on a hike on the lava. It was a little chilly and damp, but it looks like they were dressed for it. They had a good time hiking and hanging out with Dad.
On Thursday we met up with friends (Joshua, Diego and Emmett) at the movies to watch "Sing." We had pretzels and popcorn and it was a really cute movie. Our friends came over to our house afterwards to play. In the afternoon we went to the pediatrician for Ezra's 6 year well check. Ezra is in the 9th percentile for weight and height, and the doctor was happy with his progress.
A week after Spring Break we had a little getaway to Utah. We got Emmett out of school when Ezra's kindergarten was over (just before his lunchtime) and drove to Hill Air Force Base. The museum there had changed a little bit since we were last there and we had fun exploring.
We continued south to the condo we were staying at and unpacked and made dinner. Right after dinner we headed to the pool.
Saturday morning we had a beautiful drive through Provo canyon and went to the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point. There was a fun jungle playground complete with rope bridges, a water exploration room, a kid town, a geometry room and an outdoor space with playground, nature paths, maze, and pond. Emmett got to do a high indoor ropes course. That was his highlight of the trip. They also really loved the kid town.

After spending most the day at the museum, we stopped at an outlet mall to do a little shopping and then stopped at In N Out for dinner. We drove back to our condo and watched some of the final four games, went swimming and then watched more basketball.
Sunday morning Jim got out early for some pictures. We had breakfast and got mostly packed up and then went to the pool. After swimming we finished packing and left. We stopped to do a little shopping and make sandwiches. Then we went to the Hogle Zoo. It was raining pretty steadily and we weren't all that prepared for rain. The lions were napping right by the glass and we enjoyed watching the gorillas, orangutans, elephants, rhinos, seals, sea lions, and bears. Some of the smallest animals and reptiles were also fun to see (and in a warm and dry building). Other than that most of the animals were hiding or off exhibit.

We left the zoo and drove north for a couple hours and then made a mini Costco run and ate dinner at the Black Bear Diner. Elliott had to be woken up and wasn't in a great mood. We finished our trip home and were there just in time to unpack and get the kids to bed. It was a really fun getaway!
