We had a last minute invite to visit a lake with some friends. So we packed up a picnic dinner and headed north. This lake is only about 20 minutes away, but I've never been there. I didn't realize how much fun it would be for Emmett.
It has been hot the last few days, so it was a perfect way to cool off. Emmett couldn't wait to get in and wade. As he got used to the temperature, he surprised me with how brave he was to go deeper and deeper. We'll need to get him in swimming lessons soon!
Ezra was very content to sit in the shade with Richie and watch.
Jim had the foresight to throw this tube in. It is more for younger babies, but Emmett absolutely loved it. And because it was so small, he could walk and it stayed up around his waist!

we have been enjoying the lake for cooling off too. You should buy a puddle jumper for Emmett. They are approved by the coast guard but not as annoying as a life vest. Emery and his cousins have loved ours. You can get them at onesteppahead.com or i have seen them at target.
