This weekend my main goal was to work on the the house. It seems like lots of projects and cleaning have been cruising under the radar and we need to get caught up! I guess with little kids and working parents that is just a a given. Instead of working all weekend and risking having nothing to show for it, we decided to get out of town on Saturday. Because honestly if we stay home and try to get stuff done, the house just gets messier...toys, dishes, etc! So, we took a day trip to Jackson.
We started at the visitor center and had our picnic lunch.
Then we headed to the fish hatchery.
Then we did some shopping in Jackson. We have found that end of season sales in ski towns can be amazing. Labor Day weekend is still a little early, too many tourists around still. I did get a pair of shorts for a little over 80% off.
We were attempting to skip Emmett's nap and hope that he could make it through dinner and then sleep in the car on the way home. He did pretty well until late afternoon. Then it became clear that skipping naps is still not a good idea. He got cranky and clumsy and rather than chance a huge meltdown in a restaurant for dinner we drove over the mountains to let him sleep it off in the car. We stopped at a fun pizza place for dinner and he was much improved after napping for an hour. Ezra can still sleep well in his carseat and stroller, so he travels like a champ.
