After the airport we stopped for some lunch and then went to the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum. I had snagged some half price tickets a few months ago on Google Offers, so we have been looking forward to this for a while. It was a great museum with lots of things to do for both kids.
Crane Operator
The amazing water play area
Ezra was tall enough to play in the water too
Riding the horse at the "farm"
Taking the farm truck for a spin
Making a comic with stamps
Flying the helicopter that was on the roof
A wind tunnel to test your flying creations
We didn't get any great pictures of the supermarket play area or the house play area. Both boys had a great time although Ezra was starting to come down with a cold and Emmett said his favorite part was the elevator. Actually Emmett said that his favorite part of the whole trip was riding the escavator (which I guess means he liked the escalator and the elevator)!
Opening presents back at the hotel
Afer the museum we checked into our hotel. Emmett and Jim went for a quick swim while we made dinner. Then we ate and opened some presents. Emmett was more than happy to help Ezra get them open and test them. In fact he is having a really hard time realizing that they are Ezra's and not his. Then my mom and I went to David's Bridal to try on dresses for my sister's wedding. We were fairly successful and Jim was fairly successful getting the boys to bed.
On Saturday we had a great breakfast at the hotel and went for another swim. Then we went to Ikea to shop and eat lunch. We could tell Ezra was feeling pretty lousy, although he wasn't too unhappy, so we headed back to the hotel so the boys could get a good nap. Emmett was insistent that he wasn't tired, so we let him look at books in bed. When I went to check on him he had fallen asleep with a book across his face. We went to In-N-Out for dinner and came back to the hotel for more swimming. Ezra came in the pool with us and loved it!
Sunday morning we packed up and headed to the zoo. But that will have to be in a separate post!
