Jim's parents came to visit just in time for Ezra's birthday. Ezra had lots of memories of what makes a birthday special and he had lots of requests this year. The boys love this tradition of breaking through streamers in the morning.
Ezra requested crepes for breakfast. He got to FaceTime with his other grandparents before school. They were visiting my sister and asked him to guess where they were...he guessed jail! While Emmett and Ezra were at school, Elliott got his grandparents to himself.
Ezra has been dying to try a Big Mac after seeing commercials for them during the Olympics. So Karen and I stopped by McDonalds to get him lunch and then took it to him at school. I was expecting that he wouldn't love it, but he ate quite a bit of it and I think it was the perfect birthday lunch. Emmett was still in the cafeteria when we got there so we got to see him too.
Afterwards we took Elliott to the library and refreshed our books and met the Cat in the Hat.
When the boys got home from school Ezra had an invitation to visit our neighbor who he reads to twice a week. She had a little gift for him and they had tea, which he loves to do with her. When he got home he got to open the rest of his presents. He was pretty excited about the roller blades and got to roller blade around the house.
I made Ezra a s'more cake and Jim used his torch to toast the marshmallows on top.
We also received snow 3 of the days that Jim's parents were visiting which was fun for building a snowman and going sledding.
Ezra decided a while back that he wanted to be baptized. Our church did a class on baptism that he did with Jim and then was interviewed by a pastor to make sure he was ready. They also filmed him giving a short testimony.
On Sunday they showed a clip of the video and Jim baptized him.
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Ezra and spending time with Jim's parents.
