March 2026

Ezra went to the state Business Professionals of America leadership conference and his team of 3 presented a small business plan. They got 2nd place out of 20+ teams which qualified them to attend the National Leadership Conference in Nashville in May.  The BPA state conference was the week of finals so he had to coordinate with all his teachers to take finals early and still had a great report card.  He was also gone on his birthday, so we celebrated a little bit before and a little bit after.  Ezra had a Taekwondo tournament and finished up his behind the wheel training with an instructor for his driving permit.  He also qualified for State in Impromptu Speaking.

Ezra's team stayed in downtown Boise and enjoyed sharing a scooter to get around

Jim, Elliott and Elise went skiing at Pomerelle and had about the perfect day there.  They had gotten loads of snow in the previous 2 days and the sun was out for a lovely bluebird powder day.  We also got our insurance back on the Lotus and Jim started driving it to work on nice days.

It took just about all day for the resort to dig out the magic carpet

Jim had his colonoscopy on St. Patrick's Day.  Everything looked great and he doesn't have to repeat it for 10 years.  We got to go out for brunch together afterwards.  We had our traditional St. Patrick's Day meal of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, soda bread and green milk at dinner.  The next night Elliott performed in the fifth grade patriotic program.  It is all the 5th graders in the district and they hold it in a high school gymnasium.

Spring Break came and Emmett was the first to leave.  He took his SAT in the morning and in the afternoon we saw him off with a group from our church.  They took 2 vans down to Utah to fly to Honduras.  He had a great time on his trip and was able to communicate with us some as they had WiFi at the place he was staying.  He loved playing soccer with the kids, surprising people there with his soccer skills, and blessing the people there through building projects.

Jim, Ezra and Elliott flew to Arizona on Sunday morning and spent the week there.  They got to see my sister and family the day they got there and then spent the rest of the time with my parents.  They did some hiking and went to the zoo and a car museum while they were there.  The boys played pickleball every day.  It was especially hot while they were there, but they had a great time.

I enjoyed having the house to myself.  Even though I worked all week, it was relaxing to not have anyone to care for besides the dog and I got to make and buy only my favorite foods and I also had a massage and facial one evening.
