birthday party

Well if we hadn't strung Emmett's birthday out enough already, we finally had his party. We had lots of people able to come and it was a great time. We had a bubble theme, and of course it rained like crazy. We started out talking, playing and snacking. We had all round foods...meatballs, melon balls, a cheese ball with round crackers, and I forgot to put out the pretzel balls. Then we sang Happy Birthday and let Emmett have a cupcake. I blew out the candle because he definitely didn't get it. He just picked at the cupcake at first (he's not that into food unless it's cantaloupe or has spaghetti sauce on it). After quite a few tastes he decided to go for it and started stuffing his face. After getting him cleaned up we went out into the garage with the kids and played with bubbles. Then we came in for presents. My mom suggested having each kid open a present and that worked great. We had five big kids at the party. I should have had them open the presents one at a time, but I told them to just go for it, so it was a little crazy. So now Emmett's toys have multiplied again. The kid is set with so many fun things, it has been fun watching him figure things out. Thanks to everyone that came, and everyone that has been part of Emmett's first year!
