Trip to Oregon (part 1)

We had a trip to Oregon the week of Independence day.  We started our drive early Friday morning and made it to Salem in plenty of time to watch Audrey's soccer game.  We would have been pretty early, but we hit the worst traffic we've ever encountered all throughout Portland.  It was a very hot evening so we chilled in the shade with Winn.  Grandma and Grandpa Springer showed up after a little while too.  The boys were so excited to see their aunt, cousins and grandparents.  We were pretty tired after our very early morning so after the game we headed to my parents' and got the boys into bed.  We stayed up for a bit to visit with my Grandma, who was visiting for the weekend, and Mikaylee arrived for the weekend also.

Saturday morning the boys got up pretty early.  We went on a pretty hike with my parents, Grandma and Mikaylee.  It was pretty evident that Ezra was very tired, he was in a terrible mood.  Both boys had fun throwing rocks into the creek.

Ezra got a good nap and we enjoyed the beautiful weather outside.  Mikaylee was going through a plethora of stuff from her room and we were advising her to get rid of things.  We got some yard toys out and a really cool sprinkler, but a bucket of water was the favorite.  Jim and I ran a few errands together while the boys played.

Sunday morning we took my Grandma to the train station.  It was a beautiful morning and the train station and surrounding area have had a nice face lift so we wandered around there while waiting for her train to Seattle. 

After the train arrived we went to church with Jim's parents and then we all went to my parents' for lunch.  Ezra got another big nap and Emmett got to try out a slip and slide.  It was a pretty hot afternoon and Emmett played in the water, but he didn't really slide.  We showed him a youtube video of slip and slides to give him the idea, but he was content to use it as a sprinkler.  Mikaylee and I went to Trader Joes and TJ Maxx and Emmett watched Cinderella.  Then Mikaylee had to leave.  We're so glad we got to see her and my Grandma on this trip!  Uncle Ryan came over for Saturday and Sunday afternoon also.
