Christmas in November

We spent the first part of our trip with the Springer side, aside from a tailgate party with the Tevlin side on Saturday night.  The boys were excited to play with specific toys that they remembered and Emmett had a specific Berenstain Bear book that he wanted every single night.  We played outside and Emmett got to help Grandpa make a bow and arrow.  They also helped Grandma "undecorate" the Fall decorations and put up Christmas decorations.  Emmett also helped build a large "track" for marbles.

On Sunday we went to church in the morning and in the afternoon Jim's sister and her family arrived.  We decided to celebrate Christmas on November 25th with the Springer side so we could all be together.  The kids helped decorate the tree, made a paper chain and made shrinky dink ornaments.  The boys were so glad to see their cousins.

Watching cousins play games on iPads was so much fun!

Monday morning felt just like Christmas.  We got up and did stockings before breakfast.  After breakfast it was time for presents which took most of the morning.  Jim's Grandma Ellen came over too.  We had a large "Christmas" lunch, including ham and other holiday favorites.  We took a walk, played games, and played with our new Christmas toys.

It definitely felt like Christmas and it was a little strange since we hadn't even had Thanksgiving yet.  It is nice to spread out the toys for the kids, and I think they will still have plenty of fun on our real Christmas.
