The Rest of June and July 2021

While Ezra was in Oregon he got to fish, hike, dye and sew fabric, do a soccer camp and lots of other fun things.  We also had a good time going to an air show, going to a lake with friends, and playing.  Elliott used some saved up money along with money he got for kindergarten graduation to buy an electric scooter.

On July 1st Jim's parents brought Ezra back to us.  While they were here visiting we did some fun things together.  We floated the Teton River with them and our friends, the Waltons.  We did a different section of the river than last year and had a good time.  I think the views were a little better last year, and we didn't see much wildlife this year, but it was a very fun day.

On July 3rd our town did its main Independence Day celebration.  We biked to our friend's house and watched the parade with a bunch of people from our church.  Emmett's best friend lives next door, so he got to hang out with Johnny during the parade.  Elliott spent most of the parade plugging his ears and grabbing candy.

We also showed Jim's parents our favorite spot to go mini golfing.  Afterward we had pizza at a fun pizza place on the golf course.

After Jim's parents left we went to a soccer tournament in Logan, UT.  It was really hot there and it got smoky.  We had a nice hotel room with good air conditioning and a fun and refreshing pool.  Emmett's team got put in the highest bracket and it didn't turn out very well.  We had an injury in the first game and ended up only having 2 subs for the rest of the tournament.  It was way too intense and hot to only have two subs.  One of the games was in a really nice indoor facility.

We've spent a few more days at the lake with friends and have been working on some projects around the house.  Our church did VBS and I was one of the art instructors for the 4-7 age group.  Emmett was sick that week (fevers for 5 days straight) and was finally better for the last day of VBS and helped with the outdoor game track.  Elliott did the simple fun track and Ezra did the science track.  Our church has been having outdoor services on Sunday and "family dinners" on Wednesday night with bounce house water slides.

The boys entered the annual "Safety Calendar Coloring Contest" that Jim's work does.  The theme this year was keeping your friends safe.

Emmett has also been doing a program called FASTER (Fitness And Sports Training Enhanced Rehabiliation) through a physical therapy place in town.  They do a lot with improving core strength, proper body mechanics, and stretching.  We have been doing the Summer Reading program through the library and Ezra won the chance to throw a first pitch at a minor league baseball game and got to say "Play Ball" over the loud speaker.  Ezra also got to go to camp for a week.

This cabin had bunks for 14 boys and the 2 cabin leaders slept on camping pads on the floor.
