Oregon Coast - Part One

After we packed up on Monday we went to Mark's parent's home to watch some wedding gift opening.  Mark and Mikaylee aren't going on their honeymoon trip until mid-October, so it was a good last chance to hang out with them.  They had opened gifts as they had arrived in the mail, so they just opened the things from the wedding.  They got a lot of great things, they'll have fun setting up their first home and have already realized they need a bigger kitchen!  We had lunch there with leftovers from the rehearsal dinner, yum.

Then we said goodbye and caravanned with my parents, brother and grandma down to Seaside, Oregon.  We stopped at Costco to stock up on some groceries and had dinner there.  By the time we unpacked the car and got settled it was dark so we hung out in the room and visited.  Emmett opened the last present from my parents, a scooter that we didn't really want him to ride in Seattle.  Tuesday morning we had a big breakfast and then were joined by Jim's parents.  We piled in the car and went to Fort Stevens.

We came home for lunch and the boys got some good naps.  In the afternoon we went down to the beach to play in the sand and fly our kite.  The sun was nice and warm, but it was windy enough on the beach to feel almost cold.  Ezra was fascinated by the sand.  He had lots of fun running his fingers through it, but also liked to throw it and watch it blow in the wind.  We also went to the pool.  They had a really fun kids pool that had a zero depth entry.  The water was nice and warm, but the air was pretty cold.  Emmett and Ezra both loved playing in the pool.  We had a big lasagna dinner and Jim's mom brought cupcakes for dessert.  Emmett got to open the presents that they brought.  He was really excited when he opened Woody (now Buzz has a friend) and we had lots of fun playing with the stomp rockets and a new game.  After the boys were in bed we watched a movie.

In the morning Jim went down to the beach with his mom and they found sand dollars.  Jim's dad went fishing and he found some really good sand dollars too.  We had another big breakfast and packed up yet again.
