The Valley

We got to Jim's parent's home in time for dinner Thursday night.  Emmett really wanted to get outside while it was still light out to play.  We got out the stomp rockets to see how high we could shoot the rockets.  Both boys enjoyed watching them and retrieving them.  They also loved the tire swing zip line.

Friday morning Jim's sister came over after dropping her kids off at school.  The boys had a great time playing inside and out.  It was good to have some down time after such a busy trip.  Emmett opened his last present in his never-ending birthday celebration.  It felt like the whole trip was a celebration, which made it realy fun for him!  In the afternoon we all piled in the car to go pick Audrey up at school.  Winn stayed late for robotics and joined us for dinner.  Emmett and Ezra loved having their cousins around to play.  After we got Ezra to bed we left Emmett home with Jim's parents and the rest of us went to the homecoming football game at our niece and nephews school, which also happens to be Jim's, his sister's and my highschool alma mater.  Pretty crazy!

On Saturday we went on a hike.  Emmett really loves to hike and has an endless amount of energy.
We continued to enjoy amazingly beautiful weather.  The kids played outside a lot and Emmett has really progressed into a tree climber since we were last there.
Winn had a soccer game that evening so we had to say our goodbyes and we started packing up.  We got the car mostly loaded and left Sunday morning at 4:50 am.  It took us 13.5 hours to get home and we got somewhat unpacked and slept enough to make it to work on Monday.

I'm impressed you had energy to turn around and go right to work. I always plan a day to recover after long road trips. Glad you got pretty weather at the coast:)
