Oregon Coast - Part Two

We drove down the coast to Lincoln City and ate our lunch at a pull-out overlooking the beach.  Jim and his dad took the boys down to the beach and his mom and I went to the outlet mall.  We all met up at the outlet mall and then said goodbye to Jim's parents.  They headed back home and we went to join my parents in Depoe Bay for one more night at the coast.

We had a beautiful view of the ocean.  Jim drove up the coast to take pictures and saw some whales spouting.  We watched the sunset and ate dinner.  Ezra was over tired and miserable so I took him back to our condo to go to bed.  Jim took Emmett swimming.  When they got back I went to the hot tub with my parents.

The next morning we dropped Ezra off with my parents and took Emmett to a lighthouse and some tidepools.  We knew that containing Ezra at the tidepools would be nearly impossible.  It was so nice and sunny and not windy.
Emmett was willing to touch the sea stars, but not the anenomes.

After the tidepools we went back to pack up.  My grandma had cuddled Ezra until he fell asleep getting him a good nap.  We let Ezra sleep as long as possible and then checked out and went to the Newport bayfront.  My parents offered to watch the boys so we could go out to lunch with no interruptions.  It was a lovely date and the seafood was SO good and fresh.  While we ate Emmett got to go on a fishing boat with my dad.  He'd called a friend who is a commercial fisherman and worked it out to see the boat.
After lunch we said our final goodbyes to my parents, brother, and grandma and went to see Devil's Punchbowl. Both Jim and I were picturing a different place, but the rock formations were beautiful and the beach even better.  The weather couldn't have been better and we felt like we had been transported somewhere else.  The freezing cold water brought us back to reality.  Ezra had no fear of the water but hated the temperature, which was interesting.  He did a face plant into a wave, but that didn't deter him from trying to run back in.
